Top 5 2007 moments

If there's any year that stood out, it was when I was 17. I thought that the most exciting moments happened then. What's odd is back then, I didn't know any of my current Facebook friends, including the recently deleted former FB friends. A lot of this stuff is going to be repeated from other entries in this blog, but it's time that I shattered it all down in one final blog before I cancel this blog! With that said and done, here we go!

5: Discovering FFR: After digging through YouTube videos and craving for some keytapping, I found a website that allowed me to do that! Of course, I wasn't that good, but I quickly got better to the point where if I played in public, I'd probably get some attention from random people. After showing a few of my close friends the game, people thought I was some mad skilled player! Unfortunately, I couldn't get the talent to rub off enough into the school computers as the site was blocked, but boy did I have a great summer trying to get better by playing from dawn til almost dawn again! It was the thing that kept me from boredom at home.

4: YGO League at Books-A-Million: It's hard to believe that the store is gone. It brought back so many memories that I had in the back where the magazines were. For like 4 hours a day, then a meetup elsewhere after, we'd chill there and duel and hang out, making new friends, and pretty much developing a second family. I loved the days where I woke up at 8 in the morning, go to Wal-Mart, buy some cards and some breakfast so that I could get ready to tackle the Saturday fever that was called being a scrub and beating scrubs worse than I was. Despite a few people that I just did not like, I miss those days. I wish I could go back and relive it all.

3: Hanging with my best friend: Ah. The feeling of having someone to hang out with and actually do cool stuff back in the day. We never did any drugs or drank, but we did what we thought was cool. I grew my hair out, and all we did was chill at the mall or around his neighborhood. We pretty much saw each other every day at school and even in class! High school may have sucked for me, but the people I was around back then made it all worth going to. Ah yes. The dreams that we had of finding the perfect looking chick walking around the mall with no guy anywhere near her. I just wish that for one day, we could hang out like that just one more time!

2: First kiss: It took me by surprise, but one random friend request on MySpace can lead to many great things. So there was this girl. She and I scheduled to meet one day at what was the Recreation Station next to the Bowling Alley. We spent all week talking on the phone about everything there was to talk about. I normally can't do things for too long straight, but we talked for a good 7 hours before we went to bed on the first night. After that, another 4 the next night, then another 4 after that. At the end of the week, we went on a date, my first date, to go watch The Simpsons Movie. After hours of talking about everything, I was asked out that night. Of course, I said yes! The next day, a week after we met, we cuddled and kissed exactly at the place we met! It felt so amazing that I can say that I had a girlfriend, and that I kissed someone.

1: D-D-D-DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION!: I couldn't resist. That entire year, every weekend, I would burn half of my $40 allowance just to get a good workout, stepping on arrows just to get the highest score possible. It's hard to believe that for a guy like myself, I actually exercised! LOL! I think the best times were when I was paid extra money early, and I would get the chance to go to the Rec Station on a Friday Night just to show myself off! It kinda felt like I was on the spotlight when I was doing really good on harder songs. The best part about it was that the same people came in every weekend to practice! I started to realize how fun it was when people were practicing with me. It felt really good to talk about my 4 Greats on Butterfly and their AAA on some easy ass song. God I wish there could be another arcade as good as that one in Jacksonville! It would be my opportunity to show myself to everyone!

Well there you have it folks. I hope you all have enjoyed this one, because there won't be another. Fear not! My YGO blog will still be strong!

~Stay Strong!
